PREMKUMAR’S PERSEVERENCE AND PATIENCE

It is the patience and perseverance of lovely star Premkumar that had kept him 11 years of stint from ‘Praana’ to ‘Chandra’. He had seen the ups and downs but never took life lightly.

On Monday Premkumar of some of the glorious films like ‘Nenapirali, Jothe Jotheyali, Pallakki, Charminar, Chandra and others spoke to media on various aspects:

RS.700 170 FILMS WATCHING

In the early days watching films was Premkumar obsession. From Rs.700 earning he used to watch 170 films. His father was able to give education up to 10th standards. Looking after three sisters was his responsibility. He never dreamt of becoming hero. He had no background. He is in fact hero from zero.

When the big stars with big background films are crashing Premkumar films did well in the box office. Premkumar education was cut short but he did not stop reading. The newspapers tucked inside the spinning wheels were his reading material. Premkumar general knowledge increased like this over a period of time. He came to know about literary giants and more about Kannada language.

LUCK PLAYED SNAKE AND LADDER

It is the luck in life of Premkumar profession played snake and ladder game. He had three good hits and again became silent as films crashed. Films like Honganasu, Gautham, Savi Savi Nenapu, Jothegara, I am Sorry Mathe Bani Pritsona, DhanDhana Dhan and guest roles in Cheluveye Ninne Nodalu, Eradane Madhu all crumbled like pack of cards.

‘CHARMINAR’ CHARM

Winner of Film Fare award Premkumar bounced back with super hit of ‘Charminar’ and ‘Chandra’ was another moderate hit for him. He has ‘Shatru’, ‘Athi Aparoopa’ on hand for release.

The film he has signed for R Chandru production in Thejas debut direction ‘Male’. Mohan Malavi direction is another one. After that in Chandru direction and again his home banner he is starting a film with a life story of his getting ready.

MADADHI REAL BACK BONE

When my wife was working and I had no income she used to get me Rs.160 worth bus pass to move all around. She never let me down and real back bone after ‘Appa’. Despite of penury my father used to get me stomach full of chicken my favorite food. After a child I was told there is no food for the child and you go and roam around.

The contention and conviction of Premkumar not to do remake after ‘Gautham’ literally made him to sit idle for two years. He got 15 offers but his mind did not approve. He got success when he was not aware of it and failure time he came to know the value of success.

Today I get entry to temples. I am not allowed to stand in queues. I get respect of IAS and IPS he says.

INSECURITY ALWAYS DOGS

It is insecurity that is found in almost all profession bothers. For a person who had no good childhood coming up is nothing but blessings. I had sour experience more in life and managed to see at Success and Failure equally now. The trouble I had faced in this profession would have lead to suicide or joining mental hospital for others. I sustained all such troubles.

Today crossing barriers and seeing success again I get offers from Tamil and that is because of ‘Chandra’.

I AM POSITIVE

I never want to bring trivial issues to the road or television channels. When ‘Chandra’ issue blown up I did not go to any channel. I wish to maintain such positive vibrations in my career. One thing is sure – where there is no respect I cannot stay at that place.

PREMKUMAR SOCIAL CONCERN

After getting daily two square of meal I thought of disturbed people. I adopted two physically handicap. Those two could not live long. I took charge of health and food for two more. Now I have idea of giving education to five orphans.

I am not in crores in remuneration yet I want to take up such social work for needy.
